*Maximum & Minimum Contracts:
Maximum Length For Contract: 5 Years
Maximum Total For Contract: $100,000,000
Maximum Salary For 1 Year: $25,000,000
Minimum Length For Contract: 1 Year
Minimum Salary For 1 Year: $500,000
*Submitting Offers:
You may not offer a contract that is backloaded. These are the guidelines for the maximum amount of raise allowed:
1st year of contract is $2,500,000 or less | The max raise allowed is $500,000
1st year of contract is $2,500,001 to $6,000,000 | The max raise allowed is $1,000,000
1st year of contract is $6,000,001 or more | The max raise allowed is $2,000,000
Note: There is no penalty for a frontloaded contract (Decreasing Salaries)
*How To Post An Offer:
Firstly, create a new thread in the Off-Season Free Agent Offers section with the player's name as the thread subject. Secondly, when posting an offer please include the player's name, overall rating, & it wouldn't hurt to right a little paragraph on why you would like to sign that player. Also, please post the salary you are offering your player ($000,000) and your team's projected salary for the year or years you wish to sign him for. You may add any player options or team options with your offer.
REMINDER - The minimum raise when upping another GM's offer is $500,000
Example Template:
Offering:$12,400,000 for 3 years
Year 1: $3,500,000
Year 2: $4,000,000
Year 3: $4,200,000 (Team Option)
Total Team Salary:
07/08:$64,524,229
08/09:$67,012,170
09/10:$53,918,521
*MLE (Mid-Level Exception):
The MLE for this league is $5,000,000
For those of you who do not know what MLE is, it is basically extra money for teams that are over the cap. You may sign free agents with this money. This extra 5 mil is only for teams over the salary cap. If you are under by even 1 dollar, you do not get the extra 5 mil.
This is not free money every year, if you sign a player to a multiple-year contract, then it uses your MLE for all of those years. The money will count towards your salary cap, even if you go back under the limit.
When bidding on a FA while using MLE, please post it like:
The Bucks offer their full MLE of $5,000,000 to _______ for 5 years, totaling $25,000,000
Note: You must be over the cap when free agency/extension periods begin to be eligible for the MLE.
Making False Promises To Free Agents:
If you state that the player you are going after will be starting and then does not start over half the games, you will be penalized. The penalty will be a loss of a 2nd round pick. This goes for any other promises made as well. Don't just say he will start for the sake of saying it. Mean It. By putting this rule in effect, FA should be a lot more legit.
