While Dirk is enjoying his individual success, he is a little worried about the teams slow start. He also has some questions about the long-term look of the roster. This is an older Rockets team with Bard Miller, Dirk, Stackhouse, and Manu. If he was to sign an extension, what would this team look like in the later years of the deal. Dirk is realistic, and realizes he isn't in his mid 20's anymore. He has spent a lot of his career on successful teams that always finished just short of that elusive championship. He has made plenty of money over his career, and wants a shot at a championship. He isn't convinced he will get that shot in Houston, he would like to wait and see, what, if any moves the franchise makes.
